A small dog that had her tail cruelly hacked off with scissors has finally found the loving, everlasting home she deserves.

Smouse was residing in the De Doorns township in South Africa. Fortunately, she didn’t have to endure that environment for long, as Sidewalk Specials intervened and rescued her from the terrible home she was in.

Before her rescue, Smouse had suffered the cruel procedure known as “docking,” where her owner used scissors to chop off her tail. This painful act left her in misery and agony, and the tail wound became infected, making her need urgent help.

Her savior arrived in the form of Sidewalk Specials, a rescue group that stepped in, rescued her from her terrible owner, and began the process of healing her, both physically and psychologically.

Despite Smouse’s traumatic start in life, she is now thriving! This small puppy has endured so much tragedy and sorrow, and she has finally found the loving, permanent home she so rightly deserves.

In her previous home, she was left outside in the mud with a painful, open wound and infection. But her new home pampers her with loads of toys, playtime, and healthy socialization with other dogs.

It’s evident that she has found the perfect match with a loving family, and we couldn’t be happier for her.
